          Are you a beach lover ?  Have you visited Marina Beach ? Then Am sure you might

 tasted this Famous dish MASALA SUNDAL...... There are variety of  MASALA  SUNDAL

Recipes are there, Samosa masala sundal, Poori masala sundal..... Etc.... Very simple recipe ,

easy to make ..... Try this and enjoy this monsoon season with your friends and family........


                             






                       Below is the list of ingredients you need to make this recipe...........


INGREDIENTS 

Soaked chick pea - 1/2 cup
Soaked Yellow peas - 1/2 cup
Green chilly - 1 number
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 table spoon
Salt - To taste
Water - as required


To Roast and Grind 

Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 teaspoon
Fennel seeds / Saunf - 1 teaspoon
Dry Red Chilly - 3 


For Tempering 

Cinnamon - 2 inch stick
Cloves - 3
Cardamom - 2
Ginger garlic paste- 1 teaspoon

For Garnishing

Finely Chopped Onion
Finely Chopped Tomato
Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Sev


Method of preparation

1. Boil the soaked chick pea and soaked yellow peas in to soft mashy consistency... If you cook it in

Pressure cooker , after 1 st whistle , lower the flame completely and cook it for min 20 - 25 min to 

get that soft mashy consistency.

2. In a pan dry roast the given ingredients i.e, Dry red chilly , jeera / cumin seeds and saunf / fennel 

seeds, until it turn golden brown , Roast it in low flame , once it attain the golden brown color 

remove it from heat and allow it to cool down completely.

3. Once the roasted ingredients reach the room temperature , grind it into a fine powder.

4. In a pan add 1 tablespoon oil and allow it to heat up.

5. Once it heats up , add cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and fry it for few secs and then 

add 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and fry it until the raw smell goes off.

6. Now add the boiled beans along with the water and mix it well.

7. Take a spoonful of boiled beans and mash it completely . And add it to the gravy and mix it well.

8. Now add the grounded powder , add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp garam masala and mix it 

well.

9. Now add salt to taste and allow the gravy to boil , once it reach the required consistency , 

switch off the flame .

10. On the serving bowl add the required sundal gravy , now to garnish add lavish amount of 

chopped onions , chopped Tomatoes , chopped coriander leaves and sev.

11. If you wish you can add Green chutney , Katta meeta chutney , and garlic chutney... Below I will

12. If you wish you can add dash of lemon juice and some Chaat masala to enhance the taste.

13. Now our MASALA SUNDAL , is ready to serve ......

14. To make SAMOSA MASALA SUNDAL , crush a samosa and add the rest of the ingredients 

as i mentioned above .....

15. To make POORI MASALA SUNDAL , crush a plain poori and add the rest of the ingredients

as i mentioned above.....
